Job Description Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Location: Westborough MA, 01581

Role Summary :

A Mechanical Engineer 3 improves product design or designs new products using engineering principles and achieves expertise in mechanical engineering. The Mechanical Engineer 3 is responsible for running design controls and designing Mechanical product/subsystem release solutions.

Must Have: Looking for someone with experience in

design using CAD software, prototype experience, and experience with vendors and manufacturing . Experience in

plastics parts, plastics part molding , and writing design verification and validation protocols and reports is required. Experience in bioprocess or medical devices would be a plus.

Responsibilities: Duties include (but are not limited to):

Designing new products and supporting product quality improvement for disposable products for bioprocessing applications.

Executing design to engineering standards, writing design verification/validation plans, performing testing, and documenting results.

Collaborating within a team to deliver technical solutions.

Working with technical leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure technical deliverables meet specifications.

Seeking mentoring to learn and solve problems.

Leading design visualization efforts with 3D CAD models, exploring multiple design options.

Developing engineering design concepts for components and disposable systems with demanding regulatory, reliability, and cost requirements.

Participating in all phases of product redesign, including concept, prototype, testing, documentation, supplier interfaces, and manufacturing introduction.

Analyzing existing and new product reliability using FMEA, risk management, and DFR.

Developing innovative designs to meet performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability requirements.

Maintaining and developing relevant competencies.

Qualifications Qualifications:

BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics, or Biomedical Engineering.

Knowledge in structural engineering, plastics molding, analysis, and verification of mechanical structures.

Understanding of theories, concepts, and techniques in structural and/or dynamics analysis.

Knowledge of industry and academic standards related to structural analysis, finite element analysis, and verification testing, especially in bioprocessing.

Knowledge in statistics analysis, risk management, and FMEA.

Characteristics:

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Plastics with 2 years of relevant experience.

Proven experience in design verification, validation, and product design.

Self-motivated, energetic, results-oriented, and capable of multitasking.

Strong teamwork, coordination, and communication skills.

Ability to meet targets related to reliability, performance, cost, and delivery.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
