NEURORADIOLOGIST, SECTION CHIEF — UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA, GAINESVILLE, FL The Department of Radiology at the University of Florida is actively recruiting to fill one position at the rank of Clinical Associate or full Professor. This position is a full-time, 1.0 FTE,

tenure OR non-tenure track

position with primary assignments at UF-Health Shands, Gainesville. Clinical responsibilities include patient care (neuroimaging interpretation as well as CT and US-guided procedures in adult and pediatric patients) and teaching of housestaff and medical students. Our practice includes the University of Florida Children’s Hospital which provides a full range of tertiary care pediatric services and subspecialties.

Position Summary:

The University of Florida Department of Radiology is seeking an outstanding physician-leader to serve as the

Chief of the Neuroradiology Division . This academic leadership position offers a unique opportunity to lead a dynamic, collaborative, and growing neuroradiology team within a top-tier academic medical center. The Section Chief will oversee clinical, educational, and research activities of the division, working closely with faculty, trainees, and interdisciplinary colleagues in neurology, neurosurgery, otolaryngology, oncology, and other related fields.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Administration

Partner with the Chair and other department leaders on strategic initiatives and operational needs for the Department and for the Division.

Lead efforts in recruitment, mentoring, and faculty development.

Promote a positive culture of clinical excellence, academic achievement, and professional integrity.

Oversee division scheduling, workflow optimization, and quality assurance initiatives.

Ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.

Clinical Duties

Interpret a full range of diagnostic neuroradiology studies, including CT, MRI, and advanced imaging of the brain, spine, head and neck.

Participate in multidisciplinary conferences (tumor boards, epilepsy, surgery planning, spine, etc.).

Participation in after-hours/weekend call based on departmental structure.

Education & Training

Foster a vibrant teaching environment for medical students, residents, and neuroradiology fellows.

Organize and participate in didactic lectures, case conferences, and hands-on training.

Support curriculum development and educational innovation.

Research & Scholarly Activity

Encourage and participate in clinical, translational, or basic science research.

Support junior faculty and trainees in academic pursuits.

Facilitate collaboration with other UF Health colleges and research institutes.

Minimum Qualifications

MD or DO degree

Board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology

Fellowship training in Neuroradiology

Subspecialty certification in Neuroradiology

Academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor preferred (or qualifications to support appointment at that level)

Eligibility for Florida medical licensure

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated leadership experience in an academic setting

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Track record of teaching excellence and mentorship

Experience in clinical operations and quality improvement

Active research or scholarly output

Experience in AI or Informatics, optimal but not required
