Assistant Director of Development Services
The City of Fredericksburg is accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Development Services. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Development Services, this position will oversee daily operations and assist the director in developing and carrying out plans, programs, budgets, policies, procedures and initiatives of the Development Services Department, as well as supporting the vision and goals of the department. Additional tasks will involve applying and monitoring performance measures and promoting customer service and teamwork cooperation by providing leadership and direction. This position will work collaboratively with other departments, external agencies, community groups, and the public to appropriately plan for, guide and serve the community’s development. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in urban planning, architecture, public administration, or a related field; a minimum of 5 years of professional planning and development experience, which includes progressively responsible management and administration experience in a supervisory and leadership role in municipal government.
