Alan R. Warehime Faculty Chair in Agribusiness . This endowed faculty chair is a non-tenure track (NTT) position in Agribusiness at the rank of Teaching Professor. The endowed faculty chair provides resources to support the chairholder's contributions to teaching, research, public service, and academic advising. The position comes with a competitive salary based on 36 weeks of service annually, which can be supplemented with additional salary from external competitive grants, contracts, and/or endowment funds up to a total of 48 weeks annually. The position carries a 40% teaching appointment (3 courses per year) and a 60% administration appointment as the Director of Entrepreneurship & Innovation (E&I) in the College of Agricultural Sciences. These components could be changed with the addition of a research appointment, if appropriate. This is a term appointment, funded for three years from date of hire. The successful candidate will hold a faculty appointment in the College's Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education (AESE). AESE is a welcoming community with scholarship that focuses on people, society, and economic systems. Responsibilities

Serve as Director of E&I in the College of Agricultural Sciences. The Director provides strategic leadership to E&I within the College, in consultation with the College administration, College E&I Advisory Board, Penn State Office of Technology Transfer, Invent Penn State, Penn State Office of Entrepreneurship and Commercialization, and the Penn State Corporate Engagement Center. Support the College's leadership team (deans and department heads) in engagement with agribusinesses. Among other things, this will include regular interaction with the College Corporate Relations Office and the Ag Council (the external advisory committee to the Dean). Provide support and advice to new and emerging College industry engagement and research translation initiatives such as the FAO World Food Forum Youth Food Lab at Penn State. Guide College faculty through the process of patenting a new technology leading to licensing by an industry sponsor or entrepreneurial start-up. Engage in teaching based on the candidate's qualifications, primarily in the undergraduate Agribusiness Management program. Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in areas of personal expertise, including professional development for future employment in industry. Serve as a member of the Graduate Faculty and a member of graduate student committees. Engage in research, if appropriate based on the candidate's qualifications, in collaboration with other faculty and students. Serve as a trusted advisor on management and strategic issues to the Department and College, and provide appropriate academic service to the Department, College, and University. Qualifications

Seasoned executive with an earned doctorate in an agricultural discipline, or related discipline. The successful candidate must have completed all degree requirements by the appointment date. Record of professional leadership and success in agribusiness or the food industry that would qualify for the rank of professor. Expertise in one or more of the following fields: entrepreneurship, product innovation, product development, new ventures, research to commercialization, research management, supply chain management, and sustainable innovation.
