Overview
Belvidere is a manufacturing facility of approximately 700 employees serving the Snacks Operating Unit and Convenience and Foodservice Segment. We operate in a dynamic business environment, with a history of performance and innovation. The plant has evolved to include Natural and Organic bars and Fruit by the Foot; we continue to expand the portfolio to meet changing consumer and customer needs. The Belvidere plant remains a strategic site for the NAR and C&F Segments and supports investment and growth. The Controls Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for the site with respect to electrical and controls. This role aims to improve safety and reliability through tactical support and capital project execution. The candidate will function as the plant\'s controls technology expert, manage electrical and controls architecture, support or lead electrical and controls capital projects, and develop internal resources while managing relationships with contractors and integrators to ensure project success and knowledge transfer. Key Accountabilities
Contribute to a safety culture that strives for zero injuries by proactively identifying and addressing physical/environmental/behavioral issues and implementing best practices for safety and reliable control circuits Ensure existing and new equipment and infrastructure meet electrical codes (NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 79, etc.) and GMI Global CIS Standards Provide tactical and troubleshooting support to operations and maintenance in controls and information systems Provide strategic support for engineering, operations, and maintenance to reduce losses by leveraging control system technology and methodologies Implement PLC and HMI hardware/software and manufacturing networks per GMI standards Build and maintain relationships with engineers, operations and maintenance leadership, controls technicians, floor personnel, and external engineers/vendors Provide technical coaching and development for controls team Manage electrical and controls architecture, including servers, PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs Provide input into the plant\'s capital plan and proactively manage obsolescence of controls systems Support plant capital projects as a controls and electrical systems lead; manage related projects as needed Manage external integrators as necessary Apply Zero Loss Culture concepts in all areas of work Work with the Quality department to ensure installations meet quality and sanitation requirements Interface with corporate controls engineering to ensure compliance with initiatives and standards Establish relationships with contractors and carry out procedures based on site and corporate engineering standards Support Capital Project Planning and Execution; ensure projects meet operating expectations within budgets and schedules Ensure designs and installations conform to plant and GMI standards Interface with corporate personnel, engineers, vendors and technicians to develop and implement system design improvements Manage obsolescence in each area of the plant Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related degree with applicable experience or extensive relevant work experience 3+ years of related experience Demonstrated understanding of technology, including product, equipment, and cost complexities Experience with Wonderware InTouch, Historian, Allen Bradley, ControlLogix, PanelViews, RSLinx, Allen Bradley Servo Controllers, Remote IO, Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, common field devices/instruments, Servers, Windows OS Ability to interpret and apply NEC, NFPA 70E, and other standards to plant equipment and projects Strong project management skills, including estimating, scheduling, bid analyses, cost tracking, and training Experience leading electrical contractors and third-party controls integrators on major capital projects Ability to troubleshoot PLCs at the code level and troubleshoot equipment and wiring Willing to provide support off shift and/or on weekends to support 24-hour plant operations as needed Preferred Qualifications
Manufacturing experience with good communication and learning agility Understanding of power distribution and equipment (120V, 208V, 230V, 240V, 277V, 480V, 4160V) Flexibility and adaptability Problem solving and troubleshooting skills Ability to train others Commitment to CI and using tools to drive improvements Additional Considerations

The salary range for this position is $70,100.00 - $105,200.00 annually. The range reflects factors such as education, skills, work experience, and certifications. Pay may vary based on these and other factors. In addition to base salary, we offer a Total Rewards package including health benefits, retirement, time off, and wellbeing programs.
