System Engineer
to join our team located in the Ft. Meade, MD area. Responsibilities Leverage IT automation to perform daily tasks associated with data repositories on air-gapped networks. Demonstrated experience creating and managing virtual environments Experience configuring and maintaining storage and file systems Experience in developing and delivering briefings, technical presentations, and program documentation to senior program management Demonstrated experience working with a team to introduce and integrate new technologies into existing production environments Document and maintain SOPs on the configuration of the system Perform daily audits of systems and software Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university. 14+ years of systems engineering experience; an Associate degree and 5 additional years of systems engineering experience might be substituted. Familiarization with configuration, orchestration, and development of containerized applications (Ranger/Docker/Kubernetes) Ability to troubleshoot and deploy tools such as Red Hat and Ansible Experience with Bash scripting Experience with DevOps tools such as nxLog, Graphana, GIT, SaltStack (SALT) Experience with SALT to deploy config files to end nodes and do various interrogations (Ping, DNS) Experience with Linux Preferred Qualifications Ability to automate dataflow between distributed software systems. Hands-on experience with NIFI to forward collected log events to repositories for analysis. Ability to launch and configure VMware instances (i.e., vCenter) Create/Maintain bash scripts to dump and load databases Clearance Requirement Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Poly Physical Requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time. Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as the copy machine/fax machine/computer/printer.
