Quality Warranty Engineers
in Ridgeland, South Carolina. This position plays a key role in driving quality improvement and warranty cost reduction efforts by analyzing warranty data, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions that enhance product performance and reliability.
About the Role The Quality Warranty Engineer will review warranty claims attributed to manufacturing or supplier-related concerns, lead cross-functional problem-solving initiatives, and ensure timely corrective actions to minimize future warranty costs. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of quality systems, and the ability to lead projects with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Lead quality and warranty management processes specific to internal manufacturing and supplier-related issues
Collaborate with Warranty Edge / Decisive teams to validate manufacturing or supplier root causes with 85% or greater confidence
Develop and maintain warranty procedures, manuals, and documentation
Lead reliability improvement initiatives and generate performance reports against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Manage the warranty returns process and coordinate with problem-solving/root cause analysis systems
Provide detailed data analysis to identify corrective and preventive actions
Communicate fault and liability information to internal and external suppliers to obtain corrective actions
Conduct supplier audits and process reviews to ensure capability and compliance
Negotiate supplier liability and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Analyze warranty return trends, costs, and exposure to support production and supplier quality improvement
Ensure lessons learned from warranty analysis are integrated into DFMEA, PFMEA, and process capability documentation
Support warranty budgeting, reporting, and cost reduction initiatives
Promote continuous improvement methods such as Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, and Measurement System Analysis
Perform root cause analysis, lead quality audits, and drive corrective action implementation
Prepare reports, present findings, and lead cross-functional meetings as needed
Required Skills & Abilities
Exceptional attention to detail with a results-driven mindset
Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
Comprehensive understanding of quality control standards and testing methodologies
Certification in quality control (ISO 9000 or equivalent) is highly preferred
Proficiency with precision measuring tools, calibration, GD&T, and AWS D1.1 weld symbols
Ability to commit to a flexible schedule and arrive promptly for shifts
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to lead and participate in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
ASQ certifications preferred (CQE, CQA, etc.)
3–7 years of experience in warranty, quality, or manufacturing engineering
Proven expertise in root cause analysis and advanced problem-solving techniques
Experience in a manufacturing environment required
Working Conditions
Primarily office-based with occasional work in warehouse or production environments
PPE required only in manufacturing areas
Physical Requirements
Prolonged sitting, computer work, and occasional lifting up to 20 lbs
