Civil Roadway Designer / Engineer

Overview
Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Roadway designer / engineer in the Charlotte NC area. This is a full time long term opportunity with a busy engineering firm.
Responsibilities
Utilize AASHTO Green Book, Roadside Design Guide, DOT standards, and relevant guidelines/memos to establish design criteria for transportation projects.
Apply geometric design and roadside safety principles to develop projects such as interstates, interchanges, new roadways, roadway widenings, intersection enhancements, bridge replacements, and multi-modal initiatives.
Create signing, pavement marking, and traffic control plans in compliance with MUTCD standards.
Generate design plans using OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
Prepare accurate construction cost estimates.
Develop bid documents, including special provisions, to support project bidding processes.
Qualifications
0-5 years of relevant experience.
Engineer Intern (EI) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Enthusiasm for learning and collaborating with team members.
Familiarity with NCDOT and/or SCDOT design standards and plan preparation procedures is preferred.
Experience with OpenRoads Designer (ORD) or 3D modeling is a plus.
