What role you will play in our team

The Senior Electrical Engineer acts as the lead technical resource for all site and external electrical needs. Responsible for day-to-day and long-term electrical improvement initiatives to meet the site’s safety, environmental, reliability, and competitiveness goals. Depending on need, responsibilities may include subject matter expertise (SME) for small or large capital projects. Responsibilities may also be split between other Senior Electrical Engineers at the site. What you will do

Main technical point of contact for site-wide Electrical needs, ongoing maintenance, and turnaround engineering Respond to unit issues and requests requiring break-in electrical engineering assistance Collaborate with Instrumentation Contact Engineers to communicate and prioritize ongoing electrical needs within the BTs Independently maintain and manage prioritization of the worklist Develop engineering packages for repairs and improvements Develop specifications, review vendor drawings/data, and provide engineering support throughout purchase and fabrication of engineered equipment Provide technical support and advanced troubleshooting for I&E Shop Electrical Equipment Champion Role Manage site-wide Electrical Bad Actor Program Maintain Equipment Class Improvement & Obsolescence Plans Manage site Utility (ComEd) relationship Maintain site SKM PowerTools Electrical System model Point of Contact for Capital Projects Act as Owner’s Engineer and provide Engineering support for ongoing Capital work Provide input, feedback, and approvals for project electrical scope as well as Equipment Strategy development Interface with Capital Project Engineers and LECs to provide technical guidance Attend factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and provide technical approval for new installations Network / Industry Involvement Coordinate external vendor/engineering support from industry partners Maintain Vendor/Repair Shop relationships and coordinate learning opportunities Stay abreast of, apply, interpret, and promote effective use of industry codes and new technologies Drive Safety Excellence Provide technical guidance for updates to Electrical Safe Work Practices program About you

Skills and Qualifications: Educational/Experience Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Associate Degree in Electrical Technology with equivalent work experience 6-10 years of power systems experience (or equivalent)

Expert knowledge of electrical technologies and concepts, including engineering codes and standards Understanding of equipment engineered drawings, design, construction, safety, and operating principles Design and specify electrical equipment such as motors, breakers, relays, generators, substations, buses, starters, transformers, and other industrial electrical equipment (480V to 34.5kV) Commissioning and startup experience of electrical systems with maintenance personnel Participates in screening, optimization, basic design preparation for electric power systems Performs power systems simulations and analyses, including load flow, short circuit, motor starting and reacceleration, arc flash, transient stability and relay coordination Manages electrical area classification for assets within the facility supported Problem solving / troubleshooting of electrical systems Knowledge of Electrical Safety standards and Area Electrical Classification standards (API, NFPA, NEC, and NETA) Knowledge of SKM Modeling, System Studies, and Coordination (Preferred) Work experience in petrochemical production units and awareness of surroundings from a safety and environmental point of view An ExxonMobil career is one designed to last. We offer you: The expected annual salary range for this position is $144,000.00 - $169,000.00. Individual pay will be determined based on various factors, which may include skills, abilities, qualifications, work experience, and education. Pension Plan: Enrollment is automatic and at no cost to you. The basic benefit is a monthly annuity to be paid to you in retirement for the rest of your life. Savings Plan: You can contribute between 6% and 20% of your pay and are encouraged to enroll right away. If you contribute at least 6% to your savings plan, the Company will contribute a 7% match.
