Overview
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an Industrial Engineering Associate Manager to join our team in Courtland, Alabama. Industrial Engineers operate in a fast-paced, agile, next-gen environment, and utilize the latest technology in PLM, MRP, MES, Discrete Event Simulation, Data Analytics, and Data Visualization Software to produce analysis and metrics which enable imperative business decisions. This position will provide data-driven solutions that enable the production team to optimize their manufacturing schedules and costs. This role requires collaboration with all functional groups through the entire product lifecycle within a production environment. The candidate will have the opportunity to provide valuable solutions to multiple organizations and align program priorities. The Industrial Engineering team is known for delivering breakthrough capabilities and process improvement that continually redefine space flight. As our business grows, we are looking to expand our industrial engineering team with someone who can help us deliver breakthrough capabilities that redefine our production systems. This team member understands data and loves building tools that use data to surface problems and give people a convenient way to act. Responsibilities
Apply advanced Industrial Engineering concepts and techniques to analyze business processes and reduce waste. Interrogate data systems (SAP) and look for opportunities to surface problems and drive improvements. Provide oversight shop floor support, including methods of creating crew plans, burn down charts and performance metrics to optimize production. Oversee process improvement efforts, ensuring implementation and sustainment while demonstrating results. Train and advocate with stakeholders and team members on Industrial and Operations Engineering principles. Optimize organizational structure, team communication and skill proficiencies to maintain a high performing team. Basic Qualifications
Direct experience as an industrial engineer or similar technical authority in a production environment. Experience leading teams and projects (informal or formal leadership experience). Must be able to obtain a secret clearance. Desired Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. 9 years of professional experience in Industrial Engineering, or 7 years with a related master’s degree. Leadership experience with ability to maintain a high performing team and resolve conflicts. Experience with manufacturing systems, including ERP, MES, and automation systems. SAP, Apriso, VECAMS. Knowledge of simulation modeling tools and ability to apply them to analyze and optimize production systems. Simo software experience preferred. Experience establishing and launching new production lines or factories, including planning, design, implementation, and ramp-up to full production capacity. Ability to develop and execute ramp plans to increase production rates while maintaining quality and efficiency. Knowledge of line balancing principles to optimize production workflows. Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation), especially with Production Operations and Program Offices. Ability to construct PowerPoint presentation material and brief to senior leadership effectively. Security Clearance
