Controls Engineer 2
Location: Waynesboro, GA
Contract- 3 Year Client Southern Nuclear Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled
Controls Engineer
to support multiple power and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of experience with control systems, including field wiring, control narrative development, and system startup. This position involves both engineering design and field work and requires strong collaboration with plant personnel, engineering teams, and vendors. Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support across multiple control system projects.
Perform and assist with
site walkdowns
and
field inspections .
Check field cables and wiring for accuracy and safety compliance.
Develop
I/O lists
and control system documentation.
Assist in system
startup and commissioning support .
Create layout and conceptual design drawings.
Prepare
cost estimates
for control system sub-disciplines.
Review and markup control narratives and diagrams.
Collaborate effectively with plant staff, design engineers, and vendors.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Control Systems, or related engineering field.
5–7 years of relevant experience in control system engineering.
Solid electrical knowledge and experience with one or more platforms: Ovation ,
Foxboro ,
ABB , or
PLC -based systems.
Strong field experience including cable checking and wiring verification.
Experience with
control narrative development
and
document markup .
Familiarity with developing cost estimates and project budgeting.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with startup and commissioning in power generation or industrial facilities.
Experience developing or checking I/O databases and instrumentation details.
Ability to travel to field locations as needed.
