Job Requirements

Fri-Sun 7p-7a

Licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by State.

ARRT-R & CT ARRT, is required.

Must be familiar with State and Federal regulations.

Current BCLS (AHA).

At least one year of experience as a Radiology Technologist preferred.

Proficient computer skills.

One year of acute, clinical radiology experience is preferred.

Knowledge of mobile and stationary Radiographic / Fluoroscopic equipment is required.

Extensive knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is required.

Graduate of a program accredited by JRCERT.

Venipuncture certificate (proficient in starting IV's for contrast injections).

Job Summary The X-Ray Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray equipment to capture detailed images of patients' internal structures for diagnostic purposes. The role involves preparing patients, operating X-ray machines, ensuring the quality of images, and adhering to safety and regulatory standards. The X-Ray Tech collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care and accurate diagnostic information.

Key Responsibilities

Perform X-Ray Scans: Operate X-ray machines to perform imaging procedures, including chest, abdominal, skeletal, and other studies as ordered by a physician.

Patient Preparation: Prepare and position patients for X-ray exams, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.

Image Acquisition and Review: Capture and review X-ray images for quality and diagnostic accuracy, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal results.

Radiation Safety: Follow safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff, including proper use of lead shielding and adherence to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.

Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of X-ray equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly and reporting any issues or needed repairs.

Documentation: Accurately document patient information, imaging procedures performed, and relevant clinical details in the patient’s medical record.

Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information and coordinate patient care.

Patient Care: Provide compassionate and professional care, addressing patient concerns and ensuring a positive experience throughout the imaging process.
