Summary The Production Superintendent - Shipping - 2nd Shift provides operational leadership across multiple production lines or departments. This role ensures alignment with plant-wide goals for safety, quality, productivity, and associate development. The Superintendent acts as a key liaison between frontline supervisors and plant leadership, driving strategic initiatives, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement. They will provide direction, training, and coaching to Supervisors and indirectly to hourly production associates. This role places a strong emphasis on fostering associate growth and engagement while developing talent and maintaining a safety culture of continuous improvement. The Production Superintendent - Shipping - 2nd Shift promotes a positive working relationship with the production and supports staff to make the company the employer of choice.
We are offering a one time $10,000 bonus to qualified candidates starting on or before 10/31/2025.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
People Development and Leadership: Hire, train, lead and support Production Supervisors in achieving daily and weekly goals; support workforce planning, training, and succession development to build a strong leadership pipeline; mentor and coach team members to enhance skills and improve performance; foster a collaborative and engaged team culture; drive associate engagement and retention; act as acting Plant Manager when needed and contribute to strategic planning sessions.
Safety and Risk Management: Champion a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, and environmental regulations; enforce safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment; stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure team compliance.
Food Safety, Quality Standards and Continuous Improvement: Maintain team compliance with all food safety regulations and company policies (HACCP, GMPs, sanitation); establish guidelines and training to meet quality specifications through SOPs; implement and monitor quality control processes; lead corrective actions for non-conformances; drive lean initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs; identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and product quality; verify adherence to environmental laws and regulations.
Production Oversight: Oversee coordination of daily manufacturing activities to meet production schedules, customer specifications, and quality standards; establish standards to monitor equipment performance and minimize downtime; collaborate with maintenance to optimize labor, materials, and equipment usages.
Reporting and Communication: Ensure accurate reporting of output and quality metrics; analyze production data and KPIs to identify trends and implement corrective actions; provide regular updates to leadership; act as liaison between production teams and other departments (engineering, QA, supply chain).
Metrics of Success: Achieve production and quality KPIs; reduce safety incidents and improve audit scores; improve associate engagement and retention; execute cost-saving and process improvement initiatives.
Experience & Education Requirements
High School Diploma/GED: 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment, with 2-4 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Bachelor’s/Associates degree: 1-3 years manufacturing experience and 2-4 years supervisory experience.
Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Proficiency in lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, and ERP systems.
In-depth knowledge of quality control processes and compliance standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA).
Excellent problem-solving, organizational and time management skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
In a plant environment: exposure to wet and moist floors, metal and plastic grating; temperatures from 28°F to 100°F with humidity; product handling at 25°F to 50°F; noise ranges 50 dB to 110 dB; exposure to chemicals used in poultry/food processing; must wear protective equipment as required.
