Position Data Design Engineer Intern

Job Description:

The Data Design Engineer intern will support the development of software systems and solutions in support of factory automation and engineering test data systems. The Software Engineer Intern will make use of database administration and design as well as strong programming and coding skills. Project work will include the creation of data pipelines, development of data visualization, and the automation of data-based applications to drive key decisions for the business. The Software Engineer will team up with members of the Big Data group to plan, design, develop and test software solutions and applications for the business.

Be invited to attend an intern webinar series

Attend networking/social events

Attend and present at Poster Session about each Intern’s project successes and pitfalls

Receive formal, written feedback

Requirements Education

Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Data Science or Related Field.

Work Authorization

Because this position will work with ITAR-restricted data, qualified candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.

Prerequisite Skills and Experience

Understanding of relational and cloud database structure

Programming experience with Python, Java, JavaScript, Python, C++, or other programming languages

Database design and administration using MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or others

Experience with web services (AWS, Azure)

Extract and develop management reports from databases and do data mining and analysis to identify opportunities to drive operational excellence

Business Intelligence and Visualization tools, e.g.: QuickSight, MSPowerBI, etc.

Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices
