MRI Tech - Oupatient

Discover all the possibilities of a career at Northside today. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Review physician’s order and obtain pertinent medical information to identify reason for exam. Screen patients for contraindications prior to entering magnetic field. Explain procedure to patient and administer intravenous contrast as required. Select appropriate pad and coil and position patient. Select desired protocol and log factors used. Examine images following initial sequence and select location parameters for next scan. Organize images, perform the scan and transfer images to PACS system. Enter patient charges into computer system. Perform minor maintenance and repair of MRI equipment. Refer other problems to Lead MRI Technologist, Supervisor or Imaging Manager. Assist in training and orienting personnel. Practice proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately report any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury accident to Manager. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Accredited Magnetic Resonance Imaging Program. Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with one (1) year of experience in diagnostic radiology or ARMRIT (MR) registry or ARRT (MR) only registry in lieu of ARRT (RT) certification and diagnostic radiology experience. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED: Registered MRI Technologist by ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT (MR). One (1) year of training and experience in MRI. One (1) year of training and experience in Special Procedures or Computerized Tomography. Demonstrated knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
