Job Description
Responsible for all aspects of the product life cycle, including customer contact, technology selection, conceptual design, supplier and process inputs, detailed design, cost optimization, prototyping, development testing, qualification testing, production launch, tear-down analysis, customer technical support, and continuous improvements. Tasks include static, dynamic design, and analysis of electro-mechanical components, conducting feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Collaborate with support personnel (technicians and drafting teams) in preparing detailed technology selection, conceptual design, detail design, and prototyping. Translate marketing and customer specifications into engineering specifications and requirements. Work with global, cross-functional teams such as process engineering, marketing, product management, and manufacturing. Prepare and present design reviews to technical and leadership teams worldwide. Maintain product documentation, create and execute robust design validation plans and testing, and ensure designs meet cost and manufacturability targets. Perform Design FMEAs and assist with Process FMEAs as needed. Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, global environment. The position offers a work-from-home hybrid model, allowing two days per week within commuting distance of the work location. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with at least 24 months of experience in mechanical design and drafting in 3D CAD software, understanding of design tools like Matlab and Minitab, and experience developing new products from concept to completion. Experience in electro-mechanical products. Alternative Requirements
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field with at least 12 months of relevant experience in the same areas as above, including electro-mechanical products. Other Details
