Duties & Responsibilities
Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs, including adjustments and testing of steering, electrical, cooling, braking, drive trains, suspensions, engines, and related components, in compliance with all relevant regulations.
Arrange inspections and approvals for major repairs before releasing vehicles from maintenance.
Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment in accordance with all guidelines.
Identify and report additional repairs needed, including those requiring higher qualification technicians.
Record work performed, parts used, and time spent accurately.
Report unsafe conditions or vehicle abuse to the Lead Technician.
Perform road calls and on-the-road repairs as assigned.
Qualifications
Certified technician with a 310T or 310S certification.
At least 3 years of fleet maintenance experience with heavy vehicles, including repairs and engine rebuilds on diesel trucks or buses.
Hands-on experience with diesel and gasoline engines in a fast-paced fleet environment.
Experience with computerized diagnostics.
Knowledge of shop computer systems, purchasing, and budget management.
Proficiency in Word and Excel.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational skills are a plus.
