Audiologist
Position Overview
Akicita Federal is seeking a highly qualified
Audiologist
to provide comprehensive audiological diagnostic and rehabilitative services to patients at the
White Earth Service Unit . The provider will work independently within the outpatient clinic, delivering emergent, urgent, acute, and primary care audiology services. Key Duties and Responsibilities
-Perform
routine and complex audiological evaluations
including:
-Diagnostic site of lesion testing
-Auditory evoked potentials
-Pediatric audiology
-Electronystagmography
-Infant hearing screening
-Tests for non-organicity and special diagnostic evaluations
-Provide
aural rehabilitation , hearing aid evaluation and fitting, and communication counseling.
-Conduct
pre- and post-operative evaluations , and collaborate with ENT specialists and primary care providers.
-Maintain oversight for all audiological operations including scheduling, referrals, documentation, and patient follow-up.
-Deliver
in-service training , program development consultation, and support for multidisciplinary healthcare staff.
-Apply current
federal healthcare and audiology standards , including CMS, IHS, Joint Commission, and AAAHC guidelines. Clinical Knowledge and Competencies
-Strong working knowledge of:
-Otologic diseases and their audiologic implications
-ANSI calibration standards
-Hearing aid fitting and acoustic modifications
-Audiologic treatment planning for patients with multiple disabilities
-Proficient in interpreting audiologic results in the context of broader health, social, and vocational impact.
-Familiarity with
Indian Health Service (IHS) protocols , including procurement and clinic operations, is preferred. Supervision and Reporting
-Reports directly to the Clinical Director or designee.
-Functions with
independent clinical authority
and full responsibility for treatment plans and diagnostic outcomes. Work Environment
-Clinic-based setting with intermittent physical demands including standing, walking, and equipment use.
-Interacts with diverse patient populations ranging from pediatric to geriatric. Minimum Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship
required. Non-citizens may be considered if qualified candidates are unavailable. Education:
-Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) from an ACAE- or CAA-accredited program
-OR other doctoral degree in hearing science or related field from a U.S. Department of Education-recognized institution. Licensure:
Must possess a
current, unrestricted license
to practice audiology in any U.S. state or territory.
Must be able to pass a
background check
and meet
employee health clearance
requirements. $110 - $125 an hour
