We are a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center operating in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia, and Westchester County. Currently, we are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our Brentwood team.
Job Summary
The Nurse Practitioner, under a physician's supervision, plans, evaluates, and delivers patient healthcare, emphasizing prevention and patient education. Performs additional duties aligned with system standards and job specifics. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Take patient histories, perform physical exams, administer immunizations, and provide education and counseling. Order labs, draw blood, and perform tests such as wet prep microscopy. Prescribe treatments for minor illnesses, consult with physicians on medications and referrals. Maintain accurate documentation, review records, and follow up on abnormal Pap smears and reportable STDs. Participate in continuing education, provider meetings, quality improvement, and team activities. Assess patient needs based on age groups, including infants, adolescents, and geriatrics. Follow OSHA infection control standards per CDC guidelines. Ensure safe, quality, and patient-satisfactory care, meeting productivity standards. Minimum Requirements
Master’s Degree in Nursing 5-8 years of relevant work experience; 4 years in a medical office setting with increasing responsibility Valid Nurse Practitioner license in New York State and CPR/BLS certification Skills & Knowledge
Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures for nurse practitioners Competence in delivering healthcare and preventative education Ability to collaborate effectively within a team Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Additional Information
