Overview
Our client, a midsized hospital in Southern Delaware, is looking for a CT Tech to join their team. The shift is 7pm-5:30am. Responsibilities
Performs all CT Scan procedures according to established protocols. Evaluates scan for technical quality. Demonstrates anatomy under investigation. Performs all radiographic procedures according to established protocol including portable examinations. Evaluates scan for technical quality. Demonstrates anatomy under investigation. Prepares and administers contrast media according to department policies and procedures. Evaluates lab values as required prior to administering contrast media. Is competent in aseptic technique and properly labels and handles multi-dose containers. Is IV competent. Demonstrates a complete working knowledge of all radiographic and CT equipment within the department. Completes and assesses QC procedures per equipment requirements. Identifies and communicates problems by initiating machine service when needed and reports to immediate supervisor. Uses Radiation safety and reduction techniques such as Image Gently and Image Wisely to minimize radiation exposures to patients, self and others. ALARA Identifies patient using two forms of identification, typically Full Name and Date of Birth. When rotating to an outpatient site, compares provider script to order requisition and ensures the exam and ordering provider are accurate. Consults with a radiologist as necessary. Verifies images are successfully transferred to PACS prior to tracking exams in the Radiology Information System. Transmits images to vRad and authenticates timely according to after-hours protocol. Recognizes emergency situations, initiates code procedures and administers first aid or CPR as needed. Completes follow up documentation such as contrast reaction forms, extravasation reports and Safety Tracking Tools. Supports department success through inventory, ordering and stocking of supplies; rotates stock to prevent exceeding product expiration dates, systematically removes any expired items from use; collaboratively reviews schedules and ensures sufficient staffing coverage; assures Joint Commission standards are met for areas of responsibility. Qualifications
Associates Degree in related field ARRT - CT - Computed Tomography BLS - Basic Life Saving certification ARRT - RT(R)(CT) Graduate of an AMA School of Radiologic Technology or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year in radiography. Two or more years Radiography experience preferred. One or more years CAT Scan experience preferred. AED Competency
