Overview
System Integration & Test Engineer, Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS). Project Kuiper aims to deliver high-speed, low-latency satellite internet globally. KGS Engineering develops tailored space-based and terrestrial solutions for targeted government and international customers, collaborating with Project Kuiper to provide seamless communication capabilities. The Sr. System Integration & Test (I&T) engineer will work with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to design, integrate, and test innovative space-based and terrestrial applications, ensuring the system meets customer expectations in a fast-paced environment. The System I&T Engineer will develop architecture and execute the design, build, and validation of test systems for complex systems and subsystems. Responsibilities include test procedures, test software, test scripts, APIs, and automation to enable verification at multiple product levels, including SoC calibration, silicon wafer and photonics testing, and system-level tests including environmental tests. The role covers testing the satellite bus, RF payloads, optical payloads, custom ground terminals, or custom user terminals, and coordinating with partners and suppliers to support integration, test, verification, and validation. Security Clearance: This position requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance. Key responsibilities
Provide System Integration and Test leadership for the satellite bus, RF payloads, optical payloads, custom ground terminals, or custom user terminals. Provide system-level test design technical expertise for one or more products/services listed above. Specify and develop end-to-end payload or sub-system integration and test plans and procedures to validate performance against requirements. Create test algorithms, test scripts, and calibration routines for lab and field evaluation of integrated satellites, bus, payloads, or sub-systems. Analyze system and subsystem test data and collaborate with teammates, partners, suppliers, or customers to evaluate performance and identify improvements. Architect, design, and validate mechanical, optical, and electrical support equipment to enable test execution and verification. Prepare reports documenting test results, coverage, KPI metrics, and communicate issues effectively with developers and managers. Manage and close test anomalies, defects, and bugs; perform root-cause analysis and continuous improvements of control systems in a high-rate production environment. About the team

The Integrated Engineering Solutions organization leads architecture development, requirements and interface definition, assembly, integration and test (AI&T), verification, and post-delivery support. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, aerospace, or similar field 5+ years of space vehicle, bus, RF payload, SATCOM or optical payload integration and test or related industry experience 5+ years developing space or communication system test requirements, plans, and procedures for V&V 4+ years developing code in Matlab, Python, Docker, Rust on Linux; experience with industry-standard coding practices Experience testing satellite communications payloads, optical payloads, spacecraft bus and subsystems, or space vehicle level Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree or PhD in engineering, physics, computer science, or similar field High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive; resourceful with minimal direction Excellent oral and written communication and leadership skills Ability to coordinate between engineering, test lab, and technicians and schedule resources Experience as technical lead across multiple designs Experience in Linux/Unix and RTOS Experience developing and reviewing requirements for test phases Experience in test plan development for space hardware standards or MIL-STD-810/DO-160 Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills and understanding of system engineering test fundamentals Computational problem solving and test automation/optimization (Python, Matlab, LabVIEW, C/C++, Docker, Rust on Linux) Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on protected status.
