Job Description
Responsible for preparing and rendering radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, utilizing a variety of equipment while following prescribed procedures
Principal Accountabilities:
Mixes stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates doses, and administers doses, under the direction of a physician. Calibrates equipment. Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by a physician, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce an image of an organ on photographic film. Measures radioactivity, using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors. Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under the direction of a physician. Follows radiation safety techniques in the use and disposal of radioactive materials. Other duties as assigned Qualifications
Required: HS Diploma or equivalent experience.
