Senior ETL/Data Quality Tester – Cognizant

We are seeking an experienced ETL Tester to join our team of IT professionals in a permanent role. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on expertise in ETL Testing and database testing workflows, ensuring data integrity, and improving testing efficiency within a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Test both the source databases to ensure data is extracted correctly and the target tables to ensure data is loaded accurately.
• Write and execute SQL queries to verify data transformations and ensure accuracy.
• Perform ETL testing and in‑depth data quality/validation testing across complex datasets.
• Troubleshoot data and workflow issues, document defects, and drive resolution.
• Participate across Agile ceremonies, work on PI planning and testing activities across various releases.
• Coordinate with client and offshore POC’s to ensure high‑quality deliverables and timely releases.

Required Skills

• Overall 7-10 years of overall testing experience with focus on ETL/Data Testing projects.
• Must have 4+ years of experience in ETL testing and database testing.
• Strong hands‑on experience using SQL complex queries for Data validation, Data Manipulation, Data Integrity, Data Quality / Reconciliation.
• Ability to write intermediate to complex SQL scripts (Inject and retrieve) to create and manipulate data, with experience in data migration testing.
• Experience in comparing 2 different platforms (e.g., On prem and Cloud).
• Knowledge of Databricks and ADLS storage.
• Good experience with Functional, Integration and Database Migration testing.

What will help you stand out

• Oracle/SQL Server familiarity.
• Automation Testing: proficiency with tools like Selenium.
• Familiar with UI and API Testing.
• Proficient with bug tracking and test management tools (ex: qTest, JIRA).

Location & Work Model

Work Location: Louisville, KY (5 days onsite). This is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Louisville, Kentucky, USA.
