Lecturer and Internship Coordinator Work Type: Full Time Categories: Academic Advising/Support, Education/Training/Instructional Design Lecturer Candidates shall have received the academic degree appropriate to the assignment of duties, or equivalent experiences or accomplishments in the field may be substituted. The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Florida seeks candidates for a Lecturer to coordinate and deliver various programmatic and curricular aspects with a focus on internships for Beyond120, the college's experiential learning and professional development program. This is a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure accruing, renewable position. The Lecturer will have an appreciation of a liberal arts education and provide individual guidance to CLAS students as they evaluate career paths and pursue experiential learning and industry-related experiences (non-profit, public, and private sectors) while planning for full-time employment options. The successful candidate will grow and enhance the current internship program to provide scalable opportunities where CLAS students integrate the knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional workplace setting. The Lecturer will educate and empower students to maximize their liberal arts education through work-based learning, connecting real-world contexts to the knowledge, skills, and experiences needed to explore and succeed in meaningful careers and lives. As a Lecturer, the candidate will be responsible for: .25 FTE Teaching Teach eight 1-credit courses per year at the undergraduate level, including an internship course for CLAS students. This position will have primary responsibility for course content and will teach sections of this course and other Beyond120 coursework in each term (3/3/2: 3 courses in fall, 3 courses in spring, 2 courses in summer) Additional courses can include Professional Pathways, International Internship course, preparation for graduate school, and Adulting 101. Specific arrangements are dependent on unit/semester needs. .Internship, Co-Op, and Work-Based Learning Administration of the Beyond120 Internship Program. This includes program development with a focus on growth and scalability, promoting applications to the program, application review, site verification, and cultivation of new internship opportunities. One-on-one coaching/advising for CLAS undergraduate students interested in internship opportunities, as well as workshops and special events for students. This includes promoting nationally competitive internship programs, as well as local experiences. Collaborate with the CLAS Experiential Learning Coordinators to provide internship support for CLAS departments, including sharing resources, best practices, university standards, and national trends. Track and report trends on the number of CLAS students involved in internships. Work alongside Beyond120's Partnership and Employer Engagement Specialist for strategic growth of internship and industry partner cultivation. Collaborate with the college's Beyond120 team more generally in its mission of promoting experiential learning, career readiness, and professional development. Maintain and update the internship-related pages and content on the Beyond120 website. .Liaise with the Career Connections Center on internship-related opportunities. Serve on departmental, college, and university committees Identify opportunities to advance Beyond120 , internship programs, and experiential learning opportunities .A Master's Degree in a relevant field that applies to working with students in Liberal Arts and Sciences. A PhD in Liberal Arts and Sciences Project management skills and a demonstrated ability to set priorities among competing demands.
