Base pay range

$23.27/hr - $39.02/hr

GenPro Energy Solutions is the region’s foremost expert on renewable energy integration, energy efficiency, and sustainable energy product offerings. GenPro is focused on four major industry sectors, including energy-efficient lighting systems, solar-powered solutions, solar water pumping and filtration, and power generation.

Primary Function:

GenPro Energy Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Operator. The successful candidate will have experience in operating equipment such as a pile driver, skid steer, backhoe, telehandler, bobcat, excavator, and trencher. The successful candidate in this role will be physically able to perform job duties, reliable, self-motivated, and a hard worker. Travel is required for this position for successful execution of all duties assigned.

Reporting relationship: Construction Manager

Pay Grade: $ 23.27 to 39.02 (Based on Experience)

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist all tradespeople with assigned tasks
  • Follow instructions from supervisors to help implement construction plans
  • Move, secure, install, build, load, or unload material and equipment
  • Perform various physical duties including but not limited to digging trenches, compacting dirt, and backing filling holes
  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment and construction class vehicles in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures
  • Loading and offloading rocks and debris. and other materials from heavy equipment
  • Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers
  • Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner
  • Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards
  • Keep construction site clean through the course of construction
  • Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse
  • Monitor workflow to ensure productivity standards
  • Works as part of a team under strict deadlines
  • Must have a good understanding of job site safety procedures
  • Attend and participate in all on-site safety training
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Must be flexible with all job assignments
  • Must assist in all aspects of Solar & LED projects (not just operating equipment)
  • Must possess a positive, team player attitude
  • Assist team to ensure job site is clean and organized at the end of the day
  • Wear required safety gear *Personal Protective Equipment
  • Report all accidents or injuries to the job Foreman
  • Capacity to provide and follow directions
  • Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

  • Job requires working in all elements, depending on job assignment and time of year
  • Job requires travel in multi-state region with extended overnight stays up to a month
  • Must be able to work at least 8 hours per day and overtime as necessary

Physical Demands and abilities:

  • Physically able to lift and move objects 10-50 pounds
  • Occasionally lift and move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
  • Standing/walking for long periods
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, climb, balance, lift or stretch
  • Climbing and descending stairs and ladders
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers

Skills and Other Characteristics:

  • Eye, hand, and foot coordination: Must coordinate movements of your hands and feet in order to guide very large machinery in tight places.
  • Operation Monitoring: Must have the ability to read gauges, dials, and other indicators, and adjust them as necessary.
  • Interpersonal skills and teamwork: Must be able to coordinate your actions with that of other workers on busy construction sites.
  • Troubleshooting: Anyone operating heavy equipment should be able to detect and fix operating problems.
  • Critical thinking: The job will require that you identify the strengths and weaknesses of solutions to problems in order to choose the one that is most likely to be successful and cost-effective
  • Excellent vision or the use of prescribed lenses.
  • Must be dependable.
  • High level of integrity and work ethic.

Experience:

  • Experience in renewable energy is desirable
  • Construction and mechanic experience preferred
  • Prior experience operating a variety of heavy equipment required

Education/Licenses:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe and clean driving record
  • CDL license preferred, but not required
  • Candidates with a CDL must also demonstrate a strong safety record
  • International travel may be required, Passport eligible
