About the role

As Didero’s first hire across People & Talent, you’ll build the foundation for how we attract, evaluate, and retain a world‑class team. You’ll own the entire recruiting lifecycle—especially for technical and product roles—while also setting up the systems and rituals that make Didero an exceptional place to work. While growing our team will be the primary initial priority, building a world‑class people operation will be a core responsibility. You’ll work directly with the founders on hiring strategy, people processes, and org design and may evolve into a leadership role. This is an in‑person role based in New York, NY.

What You’ll Do

  • Own full‑cycle recruiting across engineering, product, and GTM roles—from sourcing to closing.
  • Partner with founders and hiring managers to define roles, scorecards, and interview frameworks.
  • Design and refine the hiring process, balancing speed and candidate experience with quality.
  • Set up and own people systems, including performance management, applicant tracking, onboarding and more.
  • Guide people strategy initiatives, including culture‑building, feedback loops, and goal‑setting processes.
  • Ensure compliance and operational excellence across payroll, contracts, and people data.
  • Be the cultural backbone, helping maintain clarity, alignment, and accountability as we scale.

You’ll be successful in this role if you…

  • Have 5–8+ years of experience in recruiting or people operations at high‑growth startups or top tech firms.
  • Have deep experience hiring technical talent—engineers, PMs, and design leaders.
  • Are process‑oriented, but pragmatic—able to scale systems without bureaucracy.
  • Are trusted and discreet, comfortable handling sensitive people issues with maturity.
  • Thrive in ambiguous, high‑velocity environments, building from zero with limited structure.
  • Are relationship‑driven, seeing recruiting as both a craft and a strategic advantage.
  • Are excited by the idea of eventually growing into a broader People leadership role.

Bonus points

  • Experience scaling a company from 100 employees.
  • Strong understanding of compensation benchmarking and leveling frameworks at AI startups.
