Location: South San Francisco, CA

Salary: $20 - $24.98 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers, receive food orders, repeat food orders.
  • Charge the appropriate price for each menu item ordered.
  • Receive the correct amount tendered and provide the correct change.
  • Enact gift cards requested by customers.
  • Be very familiar with and up to date with California Fish Grill Restaurant’s menu and prices.
  • Interact with guests in a friendly and fast manner.
  • Make corrections to customer orders quickly and efficiently.
  • Determine counterfeit money and respond to situations involving counterfeit money.
  • Verify age requirements prior to serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Treat all customers to ensure their complete satisfaction.
  • Report to work in a neat and clean uniform; well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.
  • Keep work area neat and clean at all times.
  • Clean and maintain equipment used.
  • Complete requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.

  • Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures and programs for safety, including precautions and safe work practices, fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.
  • Confidentiality of all data, including guest credit card information.
  • Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.
  • Supports and participates in common teamwork: Cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment.
  • Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
  • Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or guests regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns.
  • Promotes positive public relations with community, family members and guests.

  • Hazards include, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns.
  • Must be of legal age according to State regulations to serve alcohol.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures as directed by the Restaurant Manager.
  • Ability to be aware of and follow company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations.

  • Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 lbs or less.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED and 1-2 years related work experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Prior experience related to cashier or food service positions.
  • Valid ServSafe® or other approved Food Handler Certification.
  • High level of integrity and honesty.

Working Conditions

Restaurant environment. May be required to work beyond normal working hours as needed to meet customer needs or restaurant requirements.
