Primary Duties
- Maintain building interior by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors, and fixtures; washing windows, counters, walls, ceilings, and woodwork; sweeping, scrubbing, and waxing floors; cleaning and vacuuming drapes, furniture, and carpeting; resupplying restrooms; replacing light bulbs.
- Keep building accessibility and appearance by picking up papers and trash; replacing light bulbs.
- Remove trash by emptying trash containers, transporting materials to disposal area, collecting recycling materials.
- Keep cleaning equipment operational by following manufacturer guidelines; performing operator repairs and parts replacement.
- Maintain parts and equipment inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needs, and placing orders.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
- At least one (1) year of custodial experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to understand and follow direction.
- Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them.
- Good oral and verbal communication skills.
Safety and Health Responsibilities
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety and environmental codes and ordinances.
- Adhere to all corporate and local safety plans, policies, practices, and standards.
- Follow all safety rules of your work site and report unsafe conditions or accidents.
- Practice standard precautions and participate in mandatory training.
Physical Demands
The physical demands of this position require the employee to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Work Environment
Work is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
