Role Description

• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, billing and cash flow
• Monitor accounting data to produce financial statements for external sources
• Collaborate with department managers to analyze weekly cash activity
• Assist in monthly closing procedures ensuring accuracy in general ledger activity including adjusting journal entries, accruals, inter-company transactions, and job cost allocations
• Compliance & Auditing
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, laws, and internal policies
• Analyze payroll liabilities to ensure compliance with unions, Federal and State agencies
• Provide documentation for annual audits and reviews
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Collaborate with project controls to adhere to strict reporting deadlines
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff
• Assign projects and ensure accuracy and compliance
• Improve systems and initiate corrective actions
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
• Experience in construction accounting preferred
• 5–8 years of experience in accounting or financial management2
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and financial regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel including pivot tables and vlookup
• High attention to detail and analytical skills
