KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting is seeking an Accounting Specialist for a full-time opportunity with one of our clients in Hartford County. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with strong attention to detail and a passion for accuracy in accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger support.
Responsibilities
- Support accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and general ledger reporting.
- Process vendor invoices in Microsoft Dynamics and related systems to ensure timely and accurate payment.
- Perform weekly check runs and ensure proper documentation for all payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and maintain organized AP files.
- Track and apply pre-paid accounts to the appropriate general ledger periods.
- Maintain accurate account balances and reconcile daily reports.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including reporting and remittance of vendor statements.
- Coordinate with vendors to obtain missing invoices and resolve payment issues.
- Prepare and distribute 1099 forms and other related documentation.
- Provide support during auction days and assist with special accounting functions as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a for-profit or service-based environment.
- Experience working with accounts payable and vendor relations.
- Strong understanding of general ledger systems; Microsoft Dynamics experience a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Location: Hartford County, CT
Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 annually.
