Job Summary
While maintaining good public relations with the community and implementing the vision of the Agency, this position handles secretarial and clerical responsibilities for specific professional staff members.
Essential Job Functions
An employee in this classification is responsible for the following duties:
- Typing correspondence, memos, forms, and reports from dictated notes, dictaphone, or handwritten copy using a computer or electric typewriter.
- Reviewing documents and forms to assure completeness and accuracy.
- Answering telephone console, taking messages, and directing calls to appropriate staff.
- Distributing mail and maintaining appointment calendars.
- Making arrangements for meetings and maintaining manuals, files, and records.
- Updating data stored in the computer system.
- Completing other clerical/secretarial assignments as assigned.

Requirements
Education/Experience: Completion of twelfth grade. Three years of clerical/secretarial work experience. Will consider education in lieu of experience (2 years college equals 1 year experience).
Special Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of office practices and procedures; English, spelling, and grammar; ability to type accurately at a rate of not less than 55 words per minute using a computer and/or electric typewriter. Preference for applicants with experience utilizing computer equipment in a clerical/secretarial position. Ability to perform secretarial/clerical work involving a degree of independent judgment and requiring accuracy and speed. Knowledge of dictating equipment and transcribing. Ability to work cooperatively with others. Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.
Other: Use of an automobile, possession of a valid driver’s license, and automobile liability insurance for the minimum amount prescribed by law or the ability to provide independent transportation.
Salary: $4,210 – $5,121 Monthly
