Adjunct Faculty provide course instruction in a manner that ensures student comprehension, retention of knowledge, and positive student engagement. This position requires an understanding of course content, instructional and communication methods, and adherence to established syllabi and college policies.

$900 / semester hour

Responsibilities:

  1. Hold classes at all scheduled times, including the last class, and meet all college teaching policies and standards.
  2. Follow course delivery requirements outlined in official documents; submit a course syllabus and outline for approval seven days before classes start.
  3. Attend departmental meetings and serve on search committees as determined by the School Dean or Vice President.
  4. Recommend textbooks and required texts to the School Dean relevant to the discipline and teaching assignment.
  5. Complete grading within 5 days; submit final grades within 48 hours after the last class; remain available to students during the week after grades are posted.
  6. Participate in student learning outcomes assessment as directed.
  7. Follow all faculty and attendance policies, including the Adjunct Handbook.
  8. Maintain Canvas shells for classes, including attendance, grades, and communication.
  9. Complete assigned projects and duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Education:
  2. a. Master’s Degree in the discipline;
  3. b. Master’s Degree in a different discipline with at least 18 graduate credits in the discipline;
  4. c. Master’s Degree in a different discipline plus at least two years of professional experience and/or certification/licensure;
  5. d. Bachelor's Degree in the discipline plus five years of professional experience and certification/licensure.
  6. Prior teaching or training experience at high school or college level, or experience conducting group presentations.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Recent technology experience relevant to the position.
  9. Possession of RID certification and/or 10+ years of interpreting experience.
