Role Overview

The Dental Office Assistant supports front‑office operations, ensuring a positive patient experience and efficient administrative functions. You will work closely with providers, staff, and patients in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients, creating a great first impression.
• Handle phone calls, check office mail and email, and communicate with patients and insurance companies.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling, records, and appointment confirmations for multiple providers.
• File insurance claims, verify benefits, and explain coverage; post payments and process accounts receivable.
• Review treatment plan fees and discuss payment options with patients.
• Partner with staff to implement Heartland Dental systems and optimize office potential.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience working in a fast‑paced, customer‑centric environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Basic understanding of patient privacy (PHI) and HIPAA training.

Preferred Experience

• 1+ years in a dental or medical office.
• Experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable.
• Proficiency with Dentrix or similar dental software.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Availability for virtual or in‑person training sessions.
