Lighting Electrical Journeyman
Location: Austin, TX.

Hours: 4-10's - Will have a 3-day weekend.

Job Summary
A client we are working with is seeking a skilled and licensed Lighting Electrical Journeyman to join their team.
This position focuses on the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low-voltage lighting systems, lighting control systems, and associated components in commercial and industrial environments. The ideal candidate is a licensed journeyman electrician, highly proficient in lighting controls, and a strong problem solver who thrives in a dynamic field environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, and maintain low-voltage lighting systems and lighting control devices (e.g., occupancy sensors, dimmers, relays, automated systems).
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and lighting control diagrams.
- Diagnose and repair issues related to lighting performance, control systems, and wiring.
- Work with systems such as Lutron, Crestron, Wattstopper, Leviton, or similar lighting control platforms.
- Collaborate with project managers, GCs, and other trades to ensure project timelines are met.
- Accurately document service calls, maintenance reports, and installations.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicle in safe and clean working condition.
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License/Card (state-recognized; [Insert State if needed]).
- 2+ years of experience working in electrical systems with a focus on lighting and low-voltage work.
- Strong knowledge of lighting controls, low-voltage wiring, and system commissioning.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex control systems and lighting layouts independently.
- Comfortable working in commercial, industrial, or institutional job sites.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in various environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with lighting control programming or commissioning.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
- Familiarity with automated building management systems (BMS/BAS).
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
