Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Records Specialist to support the accurate processing and release of birth records. This role is a hybrid model in Boston, Massachusetts.
Medical Records Specialist Responsibilities
Ensure patient data confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Accurately collect, enter, and file birth record information using VIP systems.
Monitor and release completed birth certificates to the State within required timelines.
Generate and submit monthly reports to the Department of Public Health.
Maintain productivity logs and meet established accuracy and timeliness standards.
Medical Records Specialist Qualifications
High school diploma required; associate degree in healthcare or related field preferred.
13 years of experience in Health Information Management or as a birth registrar.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and experience abstracting data from records.
Proficient in EPIC, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other HIM-related software.
Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and interpersonal communication skills; bilingual fluency (English/Spanish/Haitian Creole) preferred.
