Position Overview

Senior DevOps Software Engineer (Engineer Software 3) – 25674 Mission Technologies, a division of HII, seeks a senior DevOps engineer to support the Minotaur Mission Processor, a critical C5ISR system deployed across multiple military and federal platforms. The role is onsite at the NAVWAR HQs in San Diego, CA and requires an active U.S. level Secret Clearance. Essential Job Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Automate system integration, testing, and deployment of new capabilities for an operationally fielded system, including advanced object tracking and multi-sensor correlation initiatives. Develop infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC) solutions to manage and provision development, testing, and operational environments. Collaborate directly with development and operations teams to improve system monitoring, alerting, and log management to ensure system stability and performance in the field. Integrate and test software interfaces for critical ISR sensors such as RADAR, SIGINT, and EO/IR systems within the automated pipeline. Provide expert mentorship to junior and mid‑level engineers. Collaborate closely with customers to shape the product backlog for the Scrum team, focusing on operational needs and maintainability. Support system integration events on various aircraft during ground and flight tests, including potential flight validation and operator training. Minimum Qualifications

5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 3 years with a Master’s; 0 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate; or 9 years with a High School Diploma or equivalent. 5+ years hands‑on experience in software development using languages such as C++ and/or Java. Experience working in a Linux environment. Active U.S. level Secret Clearance. Preferred Requirements

5+ years of experience focusing on CI/CD automation, computer networking, and system interfaces in a cutting‑edge environment. Prior experience with the Minotaur Mission Processor and/or working with the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security. Previous leadership experience or willingness to lead and mentor others in adopting DevOps practices. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a close team environment to bridge the gap between development and operations.
