Position Overview: The
Director of Finance
will serve as a key strategic and operational partner to the executive team, overseeing financial analysis, M&A diligence, and performance management across a growing portfolio of acquired businesses. This individual will be instrumental in driving data-driven decisions, optimizing financial outcomes, and supporting the integration and scaling of newly acquired companies. The ideal candidate will have
direct experience in the lower middle market , preferably in
multi-entity or rollup environments , and be comfortable building processes from the ground up in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial setting. Key Responsibilities:
Mergers & Acquisitions Lead financial analysis, valuation, and modeling of potential acquisition targets. Manage and coordinate financial due diligence processes in collaboration with internal teams and external advisors. Support deal structuring, integration planning, and post-acquisition performance tracking. Build and maintain acquisition models and sensitivity analyses to support investment decisions. Develop and maintain robust financial models to support strategic decision-making and scenario planning. Partner with company GMs to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as job profitability, margin performance, and cash flow. In partnership with the Accounting Director, prepare monthly and quarterly performance reports for leadership and investors, providing insights into operational efficiency and financial trends. Support the CEO and private equity sponsors with financial projections, board reporting, and ad hoc analysis. Operational & Strategic Finance Standardize financial reporting and KPI dashboards across portfolio companies. Drive forecasting and budgeting processes at the business unit and consolidated levels. Support integration of ERP/accounting systems to improve accuracy, transparency, and speed of reporting. Develop financial frameworks and internal controls to support scalable growth. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field;
MBA or CPA preferred . 7+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least
3–5 years in private equity-backed or lower middle-market companies . Direct experience in
M&A financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence . Strong understanding of
multi-entity consolidation and rollup dynamics . Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and a bias for action. Proven ability to work cross-functionally with operating leaders and investors. Why Join Us:
