Responsibilities Mayo Clinic seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to advance the development, validation, and real‑world implementation of generative AI systems for clinical decision support. This role bridges cutting‑edge machine learning research and translational medicine, focusing on building trustworthy, interpretable, and safe AI models that augment clinical workflows that put the needs of the patient first. Research Fellows will work within a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, physicians, and engineers to design novel generative architectures, benchmark them against clinical datasets, and evaluate their performance in real‑world settings. Emphasis is placed on model reliability, fairness, and value alignment to create human‑AI teams that provide value for patients while enhancing human presence in clinical care. The position offers access to Mayo Clinic's unparalleled health data resources, computational infrastructure, and clinical expertise to translate generative AI innovations into practice‑changing tools.
Qualifications Ideal candidates will have a PhD or equivalent training in computer science, biomedical informatics, or a related field, with strong experience in deep learning and a passion for improving healthcare delivery through AI.
Exemption Status Exempt
Compensation Detail $68,564 - $80,210 / year; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
