Base pay range $180,000 - $190,000 per year

Vice President of Operations Our client is seeking a strategic, hands‑on

Vice President of Operations

to lead and elevate property management operations across a diverse portfolio of affordable and workforce housing communities. This role will drive performance through operational excellence, team development, and strategic planning. You will work cross‑functionally with asset management, acquisitions, and corporate leadership to shape and execute business plans that enhance resident satisfaction, community stability, and portfolio growth.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee multi-state operations, driving performance, NOI growth, and resident retention through strategic planning and execution

Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting while monitoring KPIs such as occupancy, rent collection, and expenses

Lead and develop Regional Managers and site teams through coaching, goal-setting, and alignment with company values

Partner with HR on talent acquisition, onboarding, training, and succession planning

Ensure consistent, high-quality resident services and customer experience across all communities

Implement operational policies to improve efficiency, satisfaction, and compliance with housing regulations

Support acquisitions, lease-ups, capital improvements, and maintain audit and inspection readiness

Support internal teams on legal, compliance, and safety issues

Requirements

10+ years in multifamily housing, with 7+ years in a senior operations leadership role

Experience managing affordable housing assets (LIHTC, Bond, Section 8) is highly preferred

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage large portfolios

Strong business acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office, property management software, and digital collaboration tools

Ability to travel frequently within assigned regions
