Veterinary Technician with our Surgery department. Work Schedule:

Full-Time Pay Range APCA I/VTIII:

$23.20 - $43.70/hour *This pay band is dependent on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Competitive Shift Differentials:

Earn more with our shift differentials!

Weekday Night (Mon-Fri 6p to 8a): $4.00

Weekend Day (Sat-Sun 8a to 6p): $4.00

Weekend Night (Sat-Sun 6p to 8a): $5.50

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.

Utilize their ability to place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein.

Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart rate, pulse, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.

Understand normal vital parameters and alert the doctor when abnormal.

Able to set up intravenous fluids and administer subcutaneous fluids.

Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.

Able to disconnect and connect patient from intravenous fluids aseptically.

Ability to monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload.
