Defense manufacturing client Role Summary: The Weld Engineer combines practical welding work with administrative and technical duties. Responsibilities include developing weld procedure specifications, managing projects, supervising teams, and planning. Essential Functions: Create, submit, and manage WPS(s). Assign approved WPS(s) to new jobs. Lead welding projects. Analyze engineering designs for welding requirements. Review welding procedures, processes, and documentation. Manage welding procedure qualifications and generate welding procedures. Conduct failure and cause analyses on welding issues. Qualifications: At least 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, fabrication, or non-destructive testing, with a proven track record as a Weld Engineer, especially if lacking a Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Experience with ISO9001, NAVSEA, and ASME standards preferred. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, and work in a team. Proficient in PC-based software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software. Experience with Internal Audits and Document Control. Knowledge of machinery, processing, and statistical principles. We are an equal opportunity employer.
