The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.
The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Overview Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for procedural and system controls, problem-solving and teaching. Maintains all necessary QC, QA and documents required by accreditation agencies. Will assist physician tableside with all invasive procedures and post-processing and may participate on call.
Qualifications
High School Graduate
Completion of an approved Radiological Technology Program that meets the requirements set by the ASRT and the New Jersey Certification Board
Two years' experience as a staff technologist with consideration given for less experience
Certifications and Licenses Required
Must be licensed by the New Jersey State - DEP and registered by the ARRT
BCLS
Current ACLS certification preferred; ACLS is required within 30 days of hire

Essential Functions
Assists with clerical duties and escorting of patients
Explains procedures to patients and their families/caregivers
Post Processing in a timely fashion for the physician to interpret images
Assists the physician with procedures in a competent and professional manner
Performs diagnostic procedures in a timely, efficient manner according to policy and procedures
Adheres to all Radiation Safety requirements, including the use of radiation protective devices at all times
Directs activities toward full compliance and accreditation with ACR, MQSA, New Jersey State DEP and TJC
Prepares the room, equipment, special supplies, trays and contrast materials as needed for the patient and procedure
Reviews patient charts, scripts, referrals for physician order and diagnosis. Follows up with provider of care if information is not clear
Maintains proficiency with unit-specific equipment, troubleshoots and reports malfunctions properly, including but not limited to the X-ray equipment and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
Documents the necessary pertinent information as required, including but not limited to clinical information, birth date, and to females of reproductive age, if they may be pregnant and the date of their LMP
Other duties as assigned
