Construction Inspector
HDR, an employee‑owned design and engineering firm, is hiring a Construction Inspector to work as a member of our Florida CEI program. The position is located in the Miami, Florida area and involves working on fast‑paced, short‑duration projects with FDOT, including milling and resurfacing, bridge construction, signalization, earthwork operations, stripping operations, and final estimate preparation. The inspector will work largely independently and will interact daily with FDOT Project Administrators and other FDOT personnel.

Preferred Qualifications
Willingness to work night, holiday, and weekend shifts as needed.
Technical school or associate's degree.
Minimum 5 years of experience in roadway and/or bridge construction inspection.
Local candidate strongly preferred.
Industry certifications (strongly preferred): CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level 1; CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I; CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection; IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level I; CTQP Final Estimates Level I; FDOT Intermediate MOT; Nuclear Radiation Safety, Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors; Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self‑Study Course; CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges); CTQP Pile Driving Inspection; CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of experience in roadway/bridge construction inspection.
Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
Strong problem‑solving and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Successful completion of drug‑screening procedures and ongoing testing.
