Position Overview ERA seeks a motivated and self‑directed Senior Structural Modeler with a focus on Precast to join our team at our St. Paul, MN office location. In this in‑office role, you will be responsible for managing your own workload and projects related to precast‑specific drafting, detailing, and 3D modeling duties. You will work collaboratively while demonstrating the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver high‑quality results with direct supervision and support.
As a member of our in‑office engineering team, you will contribute to the successful delivery of complex precast projects by collaborating with experienced professionals while maintaining autonomy in your daily tasks. You will report to a designated supervisor and project engineer, receiving regular face‑to‑face mentorship, technical guidance, and performance feedback.
To excel in this role, you should be self‑driven, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively. Our collaborative office environment supports professional growth and fosters teamwork. Prior experience in team‑based precast engineering settings is preferred.
Key Responsibilities Structural Drafting and Design
Create precast erection drawings in Autodesk Revit using Edge^R from construction documents supplied by the architect and engineer of record.
Create precast production tickets in Autodesk Revit using Edge^R, including part drawings and bill of materials (BOM).
Review shop drawings and provide quality control of your work and the work of those around you.
Follow standards and practices per specific project requirement.
3D Modeling
Create new 3D Revit models from scratch based on precast design and detailing requirements.
Follow company and client‑specific modeling standards and best practices.
Maintain quality control and data integrity of the Revit model as it progresses through each design phase.
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with the project team, which may include architects, engineers, and construction professionals, through in‑person collaboration and regular team meetings.
Report project milestones and progress on a regular basis to an appointed supervisor and project engineer.
Utilize multiple software platforms, such as Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam and others, to meet the needs of diverse projects.
Ensure all deliverables adhere to company and client standards and client expectations.
Contribute to the overall success of projects by meeting deadlines and producing high‑quality work.
Administrative & Client‑Facing Duties
Read and interpret project proposals to understand scope, schedule and budget.
Work with PMs to align engineering tasks with budgeted hours.
Engage in legacy knowledge transfer to ensure continuity of client relationships.
Help ensure repeat business by understanding and delivering on client values.
Hours In‑Person Core Office Hours: 9:00 am‑3:00 pm Friday Flex: 9:00 am‑12:00 pm Full‑Time - Exempt
Requirements
Associate’s degree in architectural/structural drafting.
Excellent oral, written and communication/presentation skills.
8+ years of Precast Detailing Experience, 4+ years of modeling precast concrete structures on the Revit platform using Edge; AutoCAD knowledge is also preferred.
Experience working in collaborative Precast Engineering Environments is preferred.
Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
Proficient with Structural Modeler software, such as Revit, Bluebeam, AutoCAD and Autodesk ACC platform.
Detail‑oriented organized team player committed to delivering high‑quality work independently and reliably.
Creative problem‑solver with strong design principles and ability to develop innovative solutions.
Skilled at prioritizing multiple tasks while maintaining accountability and engagement.
