Are you a welding expert who thrives on improving processes, driving quality, and mentoring others? We're seeking an experienced Weld Engineer to lead welding process development, training, and continuous improvement in a high-impact manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead continuous improvement efforts for both manual and automated robotic weld applications
Serve as a subject matter expert for welding processes and applications
Develop, maintain, and oversee Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), procedures, and work instructions
Assist in the procurement and application of welding machines, equipment, and consumables
Develop training materials and deliver technical training for welding personnel
Provide technical direction during design and testing phases to ensure repeatable, high-quality weld processes
Analyze equipment and process performance data to establish operational standards
Recommend and implement process, layout, and cost-reduction improvements
Support cross-functional teams in R&D, engineering, and production to optimize welding outcomes
Inspect welded components and ensure compliance with quality standards
Maintain accurate documentation of welding processes and performance
Experience & Qualifications
8+ years of experience in Manufacturing or Weld Engineering
Hands-on welding experience (MIG and Pulse preferred)
Strong knowledge of welding standards such as AWS D1.1
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and weld symbology
Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, WeldPro) and robotic systems (FANUC strongly preferred)
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months
Formal training in robotic systems, metal fabrication, and arc welding
