Junior Commissioning Engineer
– JLL seeks a motivated Junior Commissioning Engineer to join our Data Center / Mission Critical Commissioning team. This position will be home based in the New York City area. This entry-level role provides an excellent opportunity to learn and grow within the commissioning field under the guidance of experienced professionals. The successful candidate will assist senior team members in delivering quality commissioning services while developing technical expertise in data center electrical, mechanical and controls systems and commissioning processes. Your day-to-day tasks will include: Supporting on-site the commissioning activities under the supervision of senior engineers Assisting with field inspections of mechanical, electrical, control and monitoring systems Documenting test results and maintaining commissioning records Participating in commissioning meetings and recording meeting notes helping prepare commissioning deliverables such as checklists and test procedures Learning and applying commissioning standards (ASHRAE, CSA) Conducting basic testing and verification activities with guidance Supporting the development and maintenance of project documentation Contributing to issue tracking and resolution processes Qualifications
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related technical field 0-3 years of experience in data center systems, construction, or related field Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Willingness to learn and apply technical concepts Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Ability to travel regularly to local project sites and up to 30% to other locations outside the Chicago metro area Desire to grow professionally in the commissioning field Preferred: Internship or co-op experience Basic knowledge of testing equipment and procedures Experience reading and interpreting construction documents and drawings Basic knowledge of building automation systems Interest in green building practices Basic knowledge of energy efficiency concepts Experience with data collection and analysis Eagerness to pursue professional certifications in the future Familiarity with project management concepts Compensation and Location
Estimated compensation for this position:
90,000.00 – 110,000.00 USD per year This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations. Location:
