About the Role: Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for developing innovative solutions? Join our team. As a Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer, you will design and test algorithms, flight software, related hardware, design tools, simulations, and more for aerospace vehicles. These span from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems to highly integrated aircraft, orbital and space exploration systems. You will explore complex GNC algorithms and assess vehicle flight qualities and capabilities. Your duties involve the design, development, evaluation, and testing of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced guidance, navigation, and control systems for aerospace vehicles.
Perform advanced simulations and analyses to validate system performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GNC systems with other subsystems.
Develop and maintain complex software for GNC algorithms and systems.
Conduct rigorous testing and troubleshooting of GNC systems to ensure reliability and performance.
Document design processes, test results, and system performance.
Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical leadership and support.
Make high-level design decisions that impact program cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Independently contribute to the design and development of software applications, conduct unit tests, and participate in code reviews.
Drive the strategic direction of the software engineering team; architect and oversee technical aspects of large-scale projects and adopt new technologies and methodologies.
Support the development of technical proposals and presentations.
Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding of technical decisions.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree; or master’s with 13+ years experience).
Typically, 15+ years of related experience.
Extensive expertise in multiple programming languages and software development principles.
Ability to design, architect, and implement complex software systems; strong leadership skills to lead a team of engineers.
Ability to make high-level design decisions and drive the strategic direction of the software engineering team.
Demonstrated project leadership, problem-solving skills, and effective communication with non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to architect and oversee the technical aspects of large-scale projects, and to adopt new technologies and methodologies.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced RPO & GNC technical knowledge; knowledge of industry trends and historical context.
Ability to support program and technical reviews and guide staff on technical solution synthesis.
Background in GNC with emphasis on navigation; experience in satellite flight programs.
Advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
Experience in the aerospace/defense industry, DoD/NASA/civil or commercial space contexts, with understanding of defense, aerospace, intelligence, and related markets.
Understanding of computer vision and RPO test techniques.
Proficiency in advanced sensor fusion techniques and algorithms (e.g., Kalman filtering, INS, GPS integration, LIDAR/vision-based navigation).
Strong background in embedded systems, RTOS, and FPGA programming.
Familiarity with cutting-edge guidance algorithms, such as optimal control and machine learning-based approaches.
Proven track record of leading large-scale, complex projects and delivering high-quality results.
Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Strong desire for TS/SCI clearance.
Compensation Pay Range: $201,080 - $276,485. Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.

Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps.
Frequent hand, arm, and finger motions requiring dexterity.
Rarely lifting or carrying up to 25 lbs.
Working Conditions
Rarely exposed to outdoor elements; variable temperatures, sun, rain/snow.
Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.
Rarely exposed to loud noises.
