Responsibilities
Lead the IT Engineering team supporting critical applications, including PLM/CAD/CAE tools such as PTC Windchill (ProductLink, ProjectLink, MPMLink, Creo), related PTC software, Autodesk, Cimco, Emerson Machinery Health Manager, DyRoBeS, ANSYS, Fluids and Mechanical, and HPC Cluster.
Lead the architecture, design and configuration of PLM solutions using Windchill, ensuring alignment with enterprise IT strategies, business objectives, and industry standards, with focus on scalability, efficiency, and security.
Conduct detailed assessments of current PLM systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization using Windchill.
Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and subject matter experts to gather requirements, translate business challenges into technical solutions, and communicate architectural decisions effectively.
Configure, customize, and deploy Windchill modules (e.g., PDMLink, ProjectLink, MPMLink, Quality Solutions) ensuring robust, high-performing, and secure deployments that meet regulatory requirements.
Architect and manage the integration of Windchill with ERP, CAD, MES, and other enterprise systems using standards-based middleware, APIs, and web services.
Develop and maintain Windchill workflows, lifecycle templates, and business rules to align with business needs.
Develop strategies for seamless data migration from legacy systems, data cleansing, and governance to ensure accuracy and integrity of product data.
Monitor system performance and scalability, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations for large-scale, global deployments.
Define security models and access controls, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive adherence to PLM and IT best practices.
Support CAE applications including Creo Simulation, Autodesk, and Ansys.
Manage and support a Linux-based High Performance Cluster environment alongside the Enterprise infrastructure team.
Serve as a technical mentor and thought leader for Windchill administrators, developers, and support teams; provide training and guidance on Windchill architecture, customization, and integration.
Create comprehensive architectural documentation, reference architectures, and training materials for both technical and business audiences.
Coordinate software contracts and maintenance renewals and manage licensing for all Engineering and technical software, including processing renewal payments and applying updated license codes to shared license servers.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical discipline.
US Citizenship required.
12+ years of hands-on experience in PLM/PDM/ALM solutions, with at least 8 years focused on PTC Windchill and CAD/CAE (e.g., PTC Creo, AutoCAD, Autodesk, Ansys).
Deep expertise in Windchill modules: PDMLink, ProjectLink, MPMLink, and/or Quality Solutions.
Experience with integrations between PLM and enterprise systems (ERPs, CAD tools such as CREO, SolidWorks, CATIA, MES, etc.).
Strong knowledge of Java, JSP, Info*Engine, XML, REST/SOAP web services, and other Windchill technologies and frameworks.
Proven track record in large-scale enterprise deployments, migrations, and upgrades.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
Experience in regulated industries (aerospace, automotive, medical devices, etc.) is a plus.
PTC certifications (Windchill System Administrator, Windchill Business Administrator, etc.) are highly desirable.
Ability to analyze complex business processes and translate them into scalable technical architectures.
Experience in ITAR-controlled environments is a plus.
