Develop your engineering career at JLL! You will work as part of a JLL facilities management team of 15+ at a client campus with a data center managed by JLL. We are currently looking to hire a critical environments engineer that can work the shift listed below.

Location Allen, TX 75013

Shift onsite, 1st shift, Sunday - Thursday 6:00 AM - 2:20 PM

Reporting To Chief Engineer

Estimated Compensation $30.00 - $35.24+ an hour (range is an estimate and not guaranteed. A job offer will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data)

General Description The Data Center Operations Engineer is responsible for delivery of best practice systems and problem resolution on all data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure (UPS, MV electrical systems, generators, cooling systems etc.)

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and performing preventive maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems to maintain 100% Up-time including fire / life safety, mechanical systems such as HVAC, chillers, CRAC, CRAH, plumbing, controls, electrical including emergency backup systems such as lighting, UPS, ATS, STS, PDU, generators, primary switchgear, power distribution, transformers, and hot water systems. Monitors operation, adjusts, and maintains refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; boilers, ventilating and water heaters; pumps, valves, piping, filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment. Must record readings and make adjustments as necessary to ensure proper operation.

Analyzes operation of various systems, determines cause of problems or malfunctions, and takes corrective action as required.

Complies with departmental policy for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials and maintains a clean and safe workplace.

Learn and understand the data center site to manage incidents and events that put critical systems at risk.

Manages work orders including CMMS, vendor management, and customer-facing tickets; understands and complies with emergency escalation procedures.

Performs additional job duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent.

1+ years of hands‑on experience operating and maintaining critical data center infrastructure, equipment, and systems.

1+ years of experience with CRAHs, AHUs, central utility/chiller plant equipment OR UPS, emergency generators, switchgear equipment.

Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel.

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and/or building management system (BMS).

Preferred Requirements

Trade school education, union training, military service, or college education is desirable.

Experience with Corrigo preferred.

Completion of EPA 608 / Universal certification.

Trained in NFPA 70E preferred.
