Chief Financial Officer
Location: Manhattan, NYC
Reports To: Managing Partners
Overview This is a great opportunity for an existing Controller looking to take the next step in her career. Outset Global Trading Limited, a FINRA broker‑dealer, operates as an outsourced trading desk to institutional investors. We are seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer to lead both the financial and operational functions of the firm. This dual‑role executive will serve as a key strategic connection to the Partners, driving financial performance and operational excellence. The successful candidate will bring deep broker‑dealer experience, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven record of building scalable systems in regulated financial environments.
Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership and Oversight
Direct all financial functions including accounting, reporting, treasury, and audit.
Manage firm capital and net capital requirements under SEC Rule 15c3‑1.
Oversee preparation of FOCUS reports and regulatory filings ensuring complete accuracy and timeliness.
Lead the month‑end close process, P&L analysis, and GAAP financial reporting across all divisions.
Collaborate with the Partners and business leaders to deliver actionable financial insights and drive profitable growth.
Regulatory and Compliance
Ensure firm‑wide compliance with FINRA, SEC, and other regulatory obligations including 15c3‑1 and 15c3‑3 in conjunction with the Global CCO.
Coordinate annual external audits and examinations with independent auditors and regulators.
Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and audit readiness.
Serve as the Financial and Operations Principal (Series 27). Not a necessity Day one.
Operational Management and Strategy
Oversee daily broker‑dealer operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Develop and implement process automation and operational excellence initiatives.
Drive cross‑functional collaboration across Finance, Operations, Compliance, and Technology.
Oversee business continuity planning, risk management, and strategic initiatives.
Leadership and Culture
Build and mentor high‑performing teams across finance and operations.
Foster an environment of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Champion technology adoption and data‑driven decision making.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA required; Series 27 (FINOP) license preferred.
8+ years of financial and operations leadership within a Financial Services firm.
Knowledge of FINRA/SEC regulations and broker‑dealer accounting principles.
Expertise in GAAP and regulatory reporting.
Proven track record of scaling financial and operational processes in high‑growth environments.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
Background in revenue recognition, client funds management, and intercompany accounting.
Exposure to multi‑entity broker‑dealer/advisory models and securities products.
Experience implementing automation and AI‑based tools.
